Sharepoint is very complex.
Your .Net experience will help, but you’re going to have to learn a lot about business planning and how to map out a series of concepts.
It’s probably a worthwhile route to go down, because you’ll learn a lot (especially since most solutions will also require programming in xml and asp and c# and use of UIs, and debugging, etc etc ad nauseum) and you’d probably get payed well for what you do.
That said, the biggest part of the job for a Sharepoint person is being able to communicate objectives and designs properly, and be able to explain details to both technical and entirely non technical people.
This is equally critical as being able to figure out what will be needed for any design.
